I took two 5 and 6 year old girls to see 'Annie' yesterday (along with a 2 year old boy). It is a a lovely 'feel good' film, based upon the musical and original film, but brought up to date. The songs and dancing are lovely, and there is a heart warming theme running throughout. I don't think that my daughter fully understood it, though, as there are some themes that are out of her range of knowledge/experience i.e. the lady who looks after the orphans is a drunk and 'man hungry' woman, and I could see that she didn't understand why she was acting the way she was....... It also prompted questions as to why the children didn't have parents. My 2 year old enjoyed the music, but it really was out of his age range over all. But, overall, a nice movie, but I would say 5-6 years is the youngest age range for it.
